Nienburg Asparagus Festival

The asparagus festival will take place again on May 26th, 2024 in the museum garden of the Quaet Faslem House/Asparagus Museum. A varied program is offered - including the new Asparagus Queen/King being crowned.

The origin of this traditional festival dates back to the end of the 13th century. Every year, vigilante groups and
shooting guilds met in German cities to practice shooting parrots or birds. At the end of the 16th century, these
practice shooting events were declared public festivals.

A letter from 1654 shows that parrot shooting became "target shooting" and that the Monday after St. John's Day
was always set as the date. A silver parrot, the most valuable piece from 1581, still hangs on the "King's Chain" of
the Nienburg Disc King today.
The jacket potato meal also takes place during the festive season and the highlight is the big parade on Monday.

Nienburg's 52nd Old Town Festival will take place from September 26th to 29th, 2024! Over 60 bands, spread
across up to 7 stages, invite guests big and small throughout the old town to celebrate and have fun! Bargain

Street Art Mile - 10 years of "Year of Mobility - Culture goes on the move"

Under the motto “Our city should become more colorful” we launched the event “SAM – StreetArt Mile in Einbeck”
in 2014. This idea has now developed into an art festival, which has achieved fame far beyond Germany's borders
thanks to our artists in the street art scene. This is made possible by many local and regional companies, foundation,
politicians and a lot of volunteers. We have now distributed over 65 works of art to buildings in Einbeck and there
are plans to do more, because in 2024 we will be celebrating the street's 10th birthday Art Mile and are looking
forward to a great event as part of our next themed year! We will delight you with cultural events and campaigns
under the motto “Year of Mobility – Culture goes on the move”. Anything that moves and has to do with mobility
can and should become an art object. “Mobile concerts” and sounding enthusiasm in motion will be experienced in
the streets. The open call for our artists is already running and you can look forward to news from spring 2024.

Experience bands of different genres in different locations in downtown Einbeck.

A lively market in the pedestrian zone and on Burgstrasse as well as the historic medieval market invite you to
enjoy and celebrate! A diverse program will be presented by over 200 artists on a total of eight stages.

Once a year we hike for 24 hours in the Harz Mountains! Follow the trail of the Harz hiking nobility in the historic
national park around Wernigerode. The Brocken has a good view - this year you can explore its surroundings.

The Hitzacker Summer Music Days are Germany's oldest chamber music festival and at the same time one of the
most innovative. Every summer, for nine days around August 1st, they transform the picturesque half-timbered
town of Hitzacker on the Elbe into a focal point of international music culture that radiates far beyond the country.

Guided tours for Open Monument Day at Bleckede Castle:
First mentioned as a castle at the end of the 13th century, the complex in the immediate vicinity of the Elbe
was always an important hub in trade along the river throughout its long existence.
The main building consists of two very different wings: The north wing, built in 1600, has typical late
Renaissance style elements such as an open framework with decorative stones and wood carvings in the
form of rosettes or shells. The west wing from 1742/43, on the other hand, was built in the Baroque style and
was painted in a single color from the start.

Münden Old Town Festival 2024 - celebration in half-timbered buildings

The Old Town Festival is intended to be a festival “by Mündeners for Mündeners”. For this reason, we would like to
involve the residents of Münden and the adventure region in many decisions.
At the end of last year, a survey was launched on social media and the adventure region's website, in which four
different motto suggestions were presented. The choice ultimately fell on “celebrations in half-timbered buildings”.
In order to present the motto and the event, the Hann. Münden Marketing GmbH designed a new logo. The colorful
design reflects the dynamism and diversity of the old town festival as well as the city itself and is intended to
attract visitors from near and far. The various sights of the city can be seen in the silhouette above the
lettering “Mündener Altstadtfest”.

The Old Town Festival promises to be a highlight in summer 2024 that should not be missed.

Summer-Sunday-Concerts

The summer Saturday concerts have been very popular for many years. People like to interrupt their shopping
spree and/or meet up in the outdoor dining areas of the bars to listen to the cheerful sounds. At the start on
April 27, 2024, two well-known “faces” will provide the best entertainment
from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Manni Schmelz and Frank Winkler.

This year, the guests and citizens of the city of Homberg (Efze) will have a cultural highlight that will be
present throughout the year and will have a great impact. The city of Homberg is celebrating the
anniversary “500 years of Hans Staden” together with the House of Reformation support group, the
organizational team and the German-Brazilian Society. The patron of the event series is Dr. Georg Witschel,
former ambassador to Brazil (2016–2020) and President of the German-Brazilian Society. An exhibition,
top-class lectures on the subject of Hans Staden, hand-made book printing, an author reading and a two-day
samba and folklore festival on the Homberg market square make up the colorful bouquet of events that the
organizational team has organized for all visitors.

The significance of Hans Staden's “Truthful Historia” for Brazil research

International scholars agree that the importance of Hans Staden, who was born in Homberg (Efze)
around 1525, cannot be overestimated. With his “Truthful Historia,” published in Marburg in 1557 by the
university printer Kolbe, Hans Staden laid the foundation for the tradition of (German-language) Brazilian
literature that is still alive today, especially for Brazilian research in Brazil. Reason enough for Hans Staden's

Aqarena Night - The Dillenburg City Festival

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Aquarena Night, the Dillenburg city festival, goes into the next round.

The Dreieichenhain Castle Festival is an integral part of the festival summer program in southern Hesse.

For six weeks, the castle offers an extraordinary backdrop for varied open-air events.

Guild and crafts market

In the historically unique ambience of the former Benedictine abbey in Seligenstadt, the Klatschmohn
Seligenstadt e.V. association organizes the historic guild and crafts market every two years on a weekend in May.

Around 20 ceramists from predominantly southern Germany will present traditional crafts and an insight into the
different techniques and design possibilities of the fascinating material clay. The offer of the exclusively professional
workshops is, as always, diverse and ranges from utensils to garden ceramics to jewelry, from faience to stoneware
to porcelain.

The Wertheim youth welfare planning group has once again prepared a lot for children, young people and the
whole family. Over 15 stations to get involved, collect ideas and repeat again and again. And some activities that
you can just do at the castle. Different shows round off the event. As a highlight, children and young people are
allowed to show off their talents, such as: E.g. dancing, singing, etc., on the big stage. This day promises fun and
adventure, relaxation and experience.

Traders from France present culinary delicacies and typical products from their home country.

Organizer Beatrice Delorme from Lyon and her fellow traders, who come from all over France, will be offering
culinary specialties in Wertheim for six days, most of which are not available in supermarkets. Visitors can look
forward to typical products such as cheese, salami, ham, olives and olive oil and dried fruits, but also freshly baked
baguettes, chocolate rolls, breads and cakes. Almost all products can be tried before purchasing. The range also
includes wooden items and lavender products such as perfumes and soaps.

in them." Hardly any line of text describes the career of singer-songwriter Gregor Meyle better than these opening
words to his song "Why it's worth dreaming" from what is now his 7th studio album. The musician with guitar,
glasses and hat makes it clear again with this album that he has come to stay. In the summer he will be taking the
songs from the brand new album “Individuality” on tour.

When Gregor Meyle and his band of Champions League musicians step on stage, the spark jumps immediately.
The audience can feel the genuine joy that all the musicians bring to their work. They play handmade music with
palpable passion for over two hours.

Many people have only known Gregor Meyle since the first season of “Sing my Song – The Exchange Concert”,
but he has earned his loyal fan base through hundreds of live performances in clubs, town halls and on large

The longest fair in the district with pre-kirch fairs, the traditional folk festival and the fair market on August 25, 2024.

Performance of the historical Wagner dance from 1560

Life in a medieval imperial city was unthinkable without the guilds and so the Wagner guild played a significant role
in the history of the city with its wagon and equipment construction and made a significant contribution to the
construction of Windsheim's third city wall. This led to this guild receiving the privilege of its own guild dance from
the city council in the 15th century. The Wagners were thus “granted their own amusements,” as the chronicle
records it.
In the 16th century, the guild dance became the most popular popular entertainment in Windsheim and over the
centuries it became a small festival that is performed twice a year and shows the privileges of the guild through
the council as well as the historical Wagner dance. It goes without saying that this festival is performed in the
colorful imperial city costumes for a Franconian imperial city.

Eagles, riflemen, sun, oxen – anyone who walked through the cities at the end of the 19th century passed a forest

same time took place primarily in restaurants and pubs. Traveling hairdressers and dentists, palm readers and
fortune tellers offered their services in the inns, and theater and cinema took place here.

Sister Anna, Bietigheim's last beguine, walks through the old town in her sister's costume. She takes her

bustle of the traders, observes the raftsmen and reports what happened on March 1st 1542.

Shepherd's Run

Oldest Swabian local festival. The shepherds' guild, whose drawer was in Markgröningen, was divided into four
parts in 1723 and subshops were set up in Heidenheim, Urach and Wildberg (shepherd runs also take place in
these towns). In the past, attendance at the guild meeting on St. Bartholomew's Day (August 24th) was
compulsory, court was held, disputes were settled and apprentices were acquitted. Today's festival goes back to
the shepherd's order of 1651. Performance hats on Friday. The run by shepherds and shepherds' daughters across
the 300-step-long stubble field and the parade take place on Saturday in the city center.

The Weststadt shows its best side and invites you to stroll and enjoy. Beautiful, regional market stalls complement the offerings of the local traders.

The popular “Daimler pleasure tours” are entering their second round.

The original Mercedes-Benz O 3500 vintage bus from 1950 is back on tour through Schorndorf and to Grafenberg.
The Daimler pleasure tours take place as part of the Stuttgart region's adventure weekend. This exclusive tour
combines fine gourmet stops where exquisite wines and culinary delicacies await you. And as a special highlight,
you will be accompanied by none other than Mr. Daimler himself.

The majority of the tour takes place by bus. A distance (slightly uphill) of 300m to the prism must be covered on
foot. The event takes place in any weather.

City tour of half-timbered art and Brewing pleasure

The most photographed half-timbered house in the city is probably the town hall. On this tour you change your
perspective and let your gaze slide from the tower to the half-timbered town at your feet. After the descent and a
short walk, you will be initiated into the secrets of the art of brewing at Kirchheim's first brewery. At the end, a
small sample beer with a snack is served.

Open dates April 20th and July 13th, 2024, both at 2:00 p.m. The tour can also be booked on a private date of

Under the annual motto "True Signs. Witnesses to History" we are celebrating the 300th anniversary of the
Kirchheim Town Hall - our half-timbered jewel in the middle of Kirchheim's old town. The anniversary celebrations
on Open Monument Day 2024 will be framed by a town hall stool and supplemented by exciting lectures on the
building history of the town hall and the history of the city administration and citizens' representatives.

Roses and rose products as well as rosy culinary delights await visitors on this day in the cozy streets of the historic half-timbered district of Weberberg.

Plastered and visible half-timbering - from the Middle Ages to the 19th century - special features that are not
noticeable at first glance - the half-timbered buildings of Biberach are examined during the tour, taking into
account the city's history.

International street festival Sindelfingen

Celebrate the 46th International Street Festival in Sindelfingen with us!

From June 21st to 23rd, people from different countries, religions and cultures come together to celebrate, laugh
and feast. Experience music, dance and delicious specialties from Sindelfingen's twin towns.

Please note that streets in the festival area will be closed. The Marktplatz underground car park can only be
reached via the Rathaus or Wolboldstrasse entrances. During the weekly market on Saturday there is no access
via Wolboldstrasse. Follow diversions and signs.

Large bags and backpacks should not be taken onto the festival grounds.

Sindelfingen rocks

Every Wednesday in August there are rock concerts on the Sindelfingen market square from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Everyone is warmly invited to experience the concerts up close and rock out passionately!

Fire evening and medieval market

The annual “Fire Evening” invites you to shop, stroll and relax in the city center with numerous attractions.
As part of the long shopping evening, the participating stores open their doors until 10 p.m. and offer promotions
and special offers. Visitors can look forward to a special atmosphere in the city center on Friday - thanks to
spectacular fire shows at changing locations, colorful light installations and live music. The younger ones can let off
steam on many play elements and on a bouncy castle, which can be found in the Lower Suburb. At 10 p.m., the
Stern Center's big fireworks display will be lit, which will be the crowning finale of the evening.

The popular medieval market starts at the same time and runs until Sunday. With music, jugglers and show fights,
hands-on activities for the children and a big fire show in the evening, there is something for everyone. Suckling
pig fresh from the grill, delicious crepes and much more ensure your physical well-being.

Gerbersau summer readings

Every year, between Hesse’s birthday on 02 July and the date of his death on 09 August, lectures are held in his commemoration. Professional speakers associated with the Stuttgart Academy of Music read stories and recollections by Hesse that are set in his hometown of Calw. The readings are accompanied by first-rate chamber music in the form of duets and quartets performed by the Calw Music School. The offer is rounded off by Sunday walks in the footsteps of the poet.

Glasperlenspiele Calw- Festival für Liedkunst

The Glasperlenspiele Calw festival is entirely dedicated to the art of song. In addition to well-known works from the
song repertoire, the festival also looks for the unknown every year, especially for settings of texts by Hermann
Hesse, who was born in Calw.

The festival includes three concerts: Concert 1 and 2 start at 7:30 p.m. Concert 3 starts at 11:15 a.m.

citizens, new residents and many visitors from near and far. The town festival in Dornstetten takes place on July

The historic market square in Dornstetten will be transformed into an open-air cinema on two evenings.
On Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th from 7:00 p.m. the cinema hall will open in the open air and
at 9:30 p.m. it will be “Film off!”
The film selection will be announced on www.dornstetten.de in good time before the event.

Wine and City festival Gengenbach

The third weekend in September is firmly booked by wine lovers: that's when the Gengenbach Wine and
City Festival is celebrated in the historic old town - with excellent wines, atmospheric music and lots of delicacies.
In 2024 on September 14th and 15th. Wine growing has a long tradition in Gengenbach. Benedictine monks
planted the first vines in Gengenbach over a thousand years ago. And so the foundation stone for viticulture in
Ortenau was laid over 1,130 years ago. Not only did numerous vineyards emerge that still bear witness to this time
today. Wines from this area can be tasted as part of the Gengenbach Wine and City Festival. The old town
continues to provide a unique atmosphere.
