Herrnhut - the city of "stars"

The town of Herrnhut, with its approximately 6,200 inhabitants, is divided into 13 smaller and larger districts.
The city's area extends over 75 km² and lies between the cities of Löbau and Zittau. Herrnhut itself is the headquarters of the administration and the main part of the tourist infrastructure.
The recognized tourist information office is open to guests seven days a week. Three museums, the Herrnhut
church hall, the Herrnhuter Gottesacker and other interesting objects and facilities invite you to visit.
They bear witness to the history and present of the Moravian Brethren in a special way - just like the Zinzendorf
Castle in Berthelsdorf, which has been extensively renovated in recent years. With the Herrnhut Star Manufactory, the town has a state-of-the-art visitor center that tells the history and
production of this special product from Upper Lusatia. Interesting objects in the sense of Umgebindehausstrasse
can be found in the surrounding districts. This also includes around 150 half-timbered houses that are listed as
historical monuments. Some of these have been lovingly and elaborately renovated and provide a good insight into
this special Upper Lusatian construction method. Herrnhut is also part of the trinational project “via sacra”, in which 16 stations with outstanding sacred architecture
are connected. There are around 200 beds in hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments available for guests in the area.
Two campsites also invite you to linger.
