Municipality of Kottmar with seven districts

The municipality of Kottmar is formed by the seven districts of Eibau, Kottmarsdorf, Niedercunnersdorf, Neueibau,
Obercunnersdorf, Ottenhain and Walddorf. The districts date back to the founding of towns around 1200 and were
originally farming and weaving villages. Like a string of pearls, they wrap around the 583 m high Kottmarberg of
the same name, which gives the community its name. Although all districts are classified under the name Upper Lusatian Weberdörfer, each one also has its typical
features and sights, which represent an interesting excursion into Upper Lusatian (cultural) history. In Eibau, the historic Factorial Court should be highlighted, which is a true gem with its rural Baroque mansion built
around 1717 with ceiling and wall paintings inside. The baroque village church, consecrated in 1707, is considered the second largest building of its kind in Upper
Lusatia. The tradition of brewing beer should also be emphasized in Eibau, which is closely linked to the annual
Eibauer Beer and Tradition Procession, one of the largest folk festivals in the region.
