Biberach an der Riß

.

Biberach an der Riß - small.strong.Upper Swabian.

The imposing tower of the Gothic parish church of St. Martin (baroque interior) as well as the two towers
White Tower and Gigel Tower with remains of the medieval fortifications impressively shape the cityscape.
Above all, the magnificent patrician houses around the extensive Biberach market square make it one of the most
beautiful market squares in southern Germany. It's just fun to discover the many winding streets and small
squares on a stroll through the old town. On summer days, the street cafés in the pedestrian zones and on the
market square have an almost southern flair. The largest medieval building complex, the Hospital of the Holy
Spirit, now houses the Biberach Museum, one of the most important municipal museums in Baden-Württemberg.
Below the towers is the Weberberg, the former weavers' guild settlement, which is reminiscent of the heyday of
barch production around 1500. The Schützenfest, a historic children's and local festival that is known far beyond
the region, is unique in Biberach every year at the beginning of July.
