Osterode (Harz)

Osterode is the "Gateway to the Harz", the entrance to Northern Germany's most beautiful mountains and is
picturesquely located on the sunny side of the Harz.
Colorful half-timbered structures line up harmoniously. Centuries-old town houses line the streets.
The extensive pedestrian zone with its historic inns, street cafés and many shops invites you to go shopping and
relax.

The quality hiking trail “Harzer-Hexen-Stieg” from Osterode to Thale is “devilishly beautiful”, exciting and
demanding. The “Karstwanderweg” around Osterode, the “HarzerBaudensteig”, the “Försterstieg”
or the highlight for mountain bikers, the “Volksbankarena-Harz”, with its 1,800 km of signposted mountain bike
trails. Motorcycle fans will also get their money's worth.
