Untermerzbach - The pearl of the Itzgrund

The community of Untermerzbach is located in a beautiful landscape at the intersection of the districts of
Haßberge, Coburg and Bamberg on the eastern edge of the Haßberge Nature Park. The place is an idyll that is
still characterized by the original landscape, gastronomy and population. A place where not everything is
discovered, exposed and marketed...

The nine villages in the community enchant with lots of half-timbered buildings, some in the typical
Thuringian-Franconian style, and with a variety of architectural monuments and historic farms, with each part
of the community having a special architectural feature.

Worth seeing: castle, historic town hall, former synagogues in Gleusdorf and Memmelsdorf, Romanesque church
in Obermerzbach, baroque castle and church in Gereuth.
